Health Is Vital

Health is taken for granted, until you can't any more. In this blog I hope to put down on paper some of the articles I come across and want to remember, about health. I will be personalizing these articles to apply to me. I am diabetic, over weight, have high blood pressure and tinnitus, so these are the things you will find here. I will include nutrition, exercise, and holistic health, and many other ideas. I work in the health profession, particularly mental health, and have an interest in suicide prevention; so these topics will also be covered in this blog. Please, if you are suffering reach out. Our county health and crisis line is 1-855-278-4204.

Insurance: It Shouldn't Be So Hard

Having retired, and the moving out of state to Arizona, I could no longer continue with the insurance I had before.  I though since I was a vested employee the insurance would continue.  Instead I will be reimbursed $750 a month, but have to find my own insurance.  I signed up for an insurance, some kind of a strange plan,  At first payment wouldn't go through but we finally were able to put it on Sheri's card.  However the next month again the payment wouldn't go through.  The bank said it was a fraudulent company.  The company said no, but anyway I decided to change.  Sheri and Tony signed up for a similar plan but through Prudential Insurance.  I went directly to Blue Cross for insurance.  Sort of steep based on my income and preexisting conditions.  But I have insurance and will be reimbursed for most of it.  I think the old insurance covered the bills I had and I will update the medical office of the new insurance when I go to my next appointment.  I thought they had dental. as well but I am being told no.  I need to get dental and vision benefits now.
